The 13th Yeast Lipid Conference will be held in Paris (FRANCE) from the 17th to 19th of May. Conferences will take place at the AgroParisTech Claude Bernard campus in Paris. The gala dinner will be held at the Musée d'Orsay's restaurant, preceded by a visit of this famous museum. It will start in the beginning on Wednesday afternoon and will end in the late afternoon on Friday 19th. This is the fisrt time the meeting will be hosted in France. We are pleased that the meeting will be hosted on the campus of the AgroParisTech Claude Bernard.
We are looking forward to see you in Paris.

The Yeast Lipid Conference (YLC) is an international scientific meeting held every second year (typically in late May) to promote free discussion between scientists working on or interested in all aspects of yeast and fungal lipids. YLC is based in Europe, although, the 11th YLC was held in Canada, since YLC always attracted researchers from outside from Europe. Each conference has its own local organizing committee which determines the style of the conference, and has full responsibility for organization. Nevertheless, the continuity of YLC is safe-guarded by a Steering Committee. The main functions of the Steering Committee are to appoint the Organizers of forthcoming YLCs, and to support the Organizers selecting subjects and speakers for the conference. The Steering Committee consists of 7-8 members, who are: the Organizers of the last three Conferences, and 4-5 experts in the field of yeast lipidology This latter group is elected a few months prior to each meeting by the members of the yeast lipid community, which consists of all principal investigators of laboratories that participated in at least one of the previous three YLCs.
During the 13th YLC we would like to emphasise the participation of young researchers. Especially, for the young scientists, a special session dedicated to speed presentation of selected posters will be included. We would like also to facilitate the participation of young scientists from Eastern Europe at the YLC by providing meeting grants (See meeting grant panel for more information). In addition, to facilitate exchange between scientists, we have included enough time for the poster sessions, selected short talks. We have also kept the registration cost as low as possible (even for a Paris event), so that young scientists from all parts of Europe can attend. During the 13th YLC both fundamental and applied aspects of the overall subject will be presented, thus allowing exchange between academic and non-academic scientists, and the growth of new partnerships across Europe.
